Application deadline - January 8th, 2010

RI NSF EPSCoR is pleased to solicit mentor applications for the Summer 2010 SURF program. If you are interested, please submit the form below by January 8, 2010. As a RI SURF mentor for RI NSF EPSCoR you will be responsible for overseeing a student in your lab for 10 weeks (May 24 - July 30 , 2010). During this time, the student will complete a formal research project and prepare a scientific poster. Fellows will also participate in career development activities and field trips. The RI SURF program will conclude with a statewide scientific poster conference (currently scheduled for July 30th, but subject to change). RI NSF EPSCoR will provide the students with a $3500 stipend and $500 for supplies. Mentors will be expected to participate in major SURF program events, including the end-of-the-program poster conference.

The research and project information you provide will be made available to students applying to the program and you may be contacted regarding qualified applicants.

Please note:
1) Application deadline is January 8th, 2010
2) Due to the limited number of fellowships available, not all projects will be awarded a student.
