Use your summer to launch a career in research...
with the Rhode Island Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program (R.I. SURF). If you are an undergraduate
student with research interests in the biomedical or life sciences, chances are we have an opportunity for you!
R.I. SURF is a collaborative effort between the RI INBRE and RI EPSCoR Programs to engage the next generation of
Rhode Island scientists. The program places qualified applicants in a 10-week summer fellowship in faculty research
laboratories.
SURF research projects are generated by faculty scientists who are
dedicated to providing rewarding research
experiences to undergraduate students throughout Rhode Island. Our Biomedical Sciences Track offers projects in
toxicology, cell and molecular biology, medicinal chemistry, pathology, pharmacognosy, and pharmacology. The Life
Sciences Track offers projects in all areas of the life sciences including genomics, proteomics, and the marine life sciences.
As a R.I. SURF participant, you will:
• Gain valuable research experience by executing an individual research project mentored by a faculty member
